So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” John 8:36

Hey there, Friend! I’m Ashley. I am married with two kiddos, and three very large and hairy dogs. Oh, and one of them drools, a lot! Woof. Woof. My favorite things are early mornings outside on our patio with a warm cup of coffee and Jesus, new adventures with my family, writing, and running. I know for some, running is quite dreadful, but it has always been a way for me to clear my head. It’s also the place where I most hear from the Lord.

Forgiven and Free has been many years in the making. For me, the last 5 years has been a messy journey into and back out of the weeds. It has been a journey of pushing in to my pain; in to the wounded places of my heart, and allowing the blood of Jesus to transform my life from the inside out.

John 8:36, “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”, has been such a transformative scripture in my life. You see, friend, I was raised in a “Christian” home, but Christ was not weaved through the fibers of our lives. Christ, or church, was just something that was done on Sundays and Wednesdays. And unfortunately, Christ was left at the doorstep of the church.

Through pushing into my wounded places over the last 5 years, I have come to know and love the real Jesus. I have come to realize that the power of the blood of the Jesus and His redemptive work on the cross, has set me free from sin, death, and evil. And, that includes generational sin. I am no longer bound by the patterns and behaviors that have been passed down from generation to generation because the same power that rose Jesus from the grave lives IN me. And that same power, has set me free from the bondage of the generational sin that caused so many deep wounds in my life.

It is this journey with the Lord, and the healing that He has brought to my life, that I want to share with others as a way of encouragement. I look forward to sharing more of what the Lord has laid on my heart, and hopefully providing encouraging space.
